I watch a lot off movies, so I will try to post a review each week(maybe more then one, all depends)
on some movies I watched that week.
Now these may be in Theaters now or been on the self for ages movies
Last night I watch Valkyrie ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0985699/ ) with Tom Cruise.
For those that have not seen it and plan to I would advise leaving now.
The movie is about the July 20th 1944 attempted assassination on Adolf Hitler by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg(Tom Cruise).
The movie is described as being a very close telling as to what did happen during those months and ultimately the last day of the coup on the Nazi regime.
It all really came down to 2 men...
One was a German General that was against Hitler that delayed the order for Operation: Valkyrie by 4 hours (Valkyrie was the name of the Coup that would have taken Germany from the Nazis)
Second was a Comm Commander that was neither for or against either group(Hitler or Stauffenberg), but at the most crucial moment made his choice.
I would recommend this movie to any one and and extra push for those that want to know more about the state of the world during this very dark history.
Also watch Downfall aka: Der Untergang ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363163/ ), this movie is based on the last 10 days under Adolf Hitler, this movie is very dramatic and almost shows a more "human" Hitler, but does show how far he was gone into madness(man was still a butcher and they make sure you know this).
Best Quote from Valkyrie: "We have to show the world that not all of us are like him. Otherwise, this will always be Hitler's Germany"- Henning von Tresckow
also
"Any problem on Earth can be solved with the careful application of high explosives. The trick is not to be around when they go off"-Colonel Mertz von Quirnheim...I LOL'ED hard at that one.
